Fatigue, Forgetfulness... and Faith

Some times at night I feel so tired that I skip the things I'm supposed to do, like music homework, practice, cleaning and other necessary stuff.

The next day I come to work slightly overwhelmed, because I'm less prepared.

How do you sort your life out on limited time? How do you evade laziness that comes from being exhausted? Or is it not laziness?

Still, I want to do more things with my time. Shame that it is so limited, the minutes and hours just pass me by.

Now it's already August and I look back on what I achieved. It's not so bad but I want more.

Like anyone else, I have my worries and frets. I remind myself I need to lay them down and keep going.

I thought I found the solution to writer's block on this blogging site, but it still taunts me. I have my assigned projects, yet I have no idea how to execute.

Despite all that I have to bear, I still believe I will pull through.

So even when I say "I don't know"

I will try

Writing For Money, Writing For Fun and Writing Without Inspiration pt 1

Now just to update you since I jumped off this boat and disappeared into oblivion for two years, I am currently at a job where a big part of it is writing. Not very difficult writing, but sometimes it can seem tough as the outcome has to satisfy all kinds of people. My previous job was editing so that was nearly a no-brainer.

Even before work set in, during school and uni people like us write for:

-Fun!
-Assignments, exams (because we have to)
-to document something personal
-to try your luck to see how far you could go!

This blog was for the last reason. Not really having any expectation was alright, but because of that I think I also forgot about it. Oops...

Nowadays you read news about bloggers / YouTube personalities being extremely rich and famous. Well there's a lot of others who haven't found that luck and I'm one of them. It would be nice though to have this as a source of income.

Enough rambling. I am here to talk about writing without inspiration / ideas.

Sometimes you are forced to write. I am experiencing that everyday now as I cover events etc. Not that I don't want to, but I don't want to come up with something boring that no one will read. I need something INTERESTING.

While I have Googled this phrase and read some interesting articles, I am still experiencing a period of nothingness when I'm supposed to be writing. I have deadlines too you know.

So what can we do now?

All I ask of you is;
1. What do you expect to find out when you read an article?

2. What makes you read an article?

3. What about it makes you remember it? (In a good way of course!)

In finding out these I hope to be able to satisfy everyone with the words that come through my fingers!

...to be continued (hopefully!)

Dusting off, looking at it again

Wow, I seem to have forgotten about this blog. It's already mid 2012!

But now I think I will start again, since it still looks good and I miss writing the way I did before.

I need to be disciplined to push on!

Andy Moor at Euphoria MOS

"Trance is life!" "Trance is life!" "Trance is life!" "Trance is life!" "Trance is life!"

Trance is life because there is just no other way.

Ah yes Euphoria again. I'm still hanging over from Thursday night and I can't wait to get myself wasted one more time.

International DJ Andy Moor will launch Trance Nation at MOS.

Trance is cool because of the psychedelic sounds you get to enjoy, and just lose yourself.

So set aside RM60 and be at Sunway at 7th May.

Me? I'm still hanging... over.

I Wanna Be In The House With Steven Aoki this Saturday!

Actually "I'm in the House..." My own house... Home. Sigh

I've always loved going to Euphoria on Thurs nights (cause it's free for ladies. And I'm a lady)

And which girl doesn't swoon over Patrick Oliver?? The most amazing DJ I've seen and heard. Not to mention the hottest.

An event happening on Labour Day (that's 1st May if you don't have off days) is the appearance of international DJ Steve Aoki at Euphoria. Brother of supermodel Devon Aoki.. Some people got all the luck...

And guess what? Cover charge is set at RM60!

It's actually not so bad if you think about what you're getting
A house drink, an international DJ and hours of fun at an extremely happening club.

But for me, it's pretty high

So anyone who wants a date that night can call me! Wheeee!

I can sense some people thinking how lame this tactic is

In case ya'll don't know, Euphoria by Ministry of Sound (yeah that's what it's called, nothing governmental or religion-related) is located at Sunway or Bandar Sunway. It's near a hip shopping mall called Sunway Pyramid.

The great thing about clubbing is you get to party until 3am. The downside is that the party ends at 3am. That's what I think anyway. If I could start a club, it would end at 4 or 5.

This Saturday, the aforementioned event starts at 9.30pm. I cannot guarantee you that the head-banging starts at 9.30 on the dot, but definitely by midnight or so, you won't know what hit you.

So go ahead you wealthy, got-all-the-money-in-the-world-for-partaying people. Buy those darn tickets, and maybe some bottles to go with it.

while I sit here and beg for free passes!

Packet Drink Review: Drinho Ho Yan Hor (Luo Han Guo flavour)

This is a relatively new drink in the market. Drinho has been selling Ho Yan Hor drinks in packet form. They come in two flavours, one is Sour Plum (aka Buah Asam, in green packaging) and the other is Luo Han Guo (aka longan??) in the brown packaging as shown below.

250ml each.

I know a lot of people are wary about packet drinks since they are usually very sweet with some commercialized chemical taste, but this is pretty authentic. I really like the flavour of this, it tastes almost like the kind of luo han guo you get at chinese food courts.

The REAL Ho Yan Hor herbal tea is extremely bitter. I mean really bitter. It comes in what looks like a really big tea bag and is a lil pricey. I've tried it before and I can understand why people put asam inside. Makes it easier to swallow! But one of the main benefits of the original Ho Yan Hor is that it is cooling. I experience heatiness (yit hei) quite often and I eat/drink as many cooling things as I can.

Do I feel 'cooler' after drinking this? I'm not 100% sure really. It could be psychological. Like I give you a glass of water and I tell you it's gonna make your fever go away. If you believe it, it'll probably work, lol :)

I'm not saying that this drink doesn't help, but I like it because of the flavour. The Asam flavour version is pretty authentic too. My friend who's never tried Ho Yan Hor made a weird face when I let her try it.. hehehe.

Cooling or not, I will buy it. Retails for about RM7.22 for a pack of 6 if I am not mistaken. It may be more expensive than buying the real luo han guo from chinese tea stalls, but you're paying for convenience and mobility.

:)

Review: Kanebo KATE Powder Foundation

My first makeup review for this blog!
Here I have my favourite foundation to date

It is the Kanebo KATE Powder Foundation (I think it's called Transial Pact) Reason why I like this is because liquid foundations have always clogged my pores and slide off my face after a few hours. This stays on despite my oily skin, and I never experienced breakouts.

The Colour is OC-C and is only slightly lighter than my own skin tone. The powder is very smooth and velvety. When you first apply it it'll look a bit white but it does blend into your skin after a while. I've been using this (irregularly, like once or twice, or three times a week) for the past year or so, and it's hardly moved! I always apply this with a brush (Cyber Colors Powder brush) It comes with a sponge but I never seem to get the hang of it. As you can see I only bought the refill pack because the case by itself costs about RM20.. which I didn't want to pay haha. The amount is 11.5grams and has SPF20 PA++. This is available at Watson's or Guardian carrying the Kanebo KATE range at about RM55 or fifty something. They have about 5 shades.

My skin is quite acne prone, with some (actually a LOT) of visible scars and pores. This is my face after being cleansed, toned and moisturised.

Below is my face after applying the foundation. No primer, no concealer, just the powder. I'd say it covers quite well for a powder. My skin looks better too. It looks better when used with makeup base.

At the end of the day, after a lot of sweat and oil coming out of my face, there is still makeup to remove. I see that as a good thing since it meant that it stayed on. Oil control is not bad for the first 5 hours. I do get oily but at least I still look alright hehe.

Since I was bored, I decided to do some eye makeup and blush :)

Products used:
Revlon Color Stay 12 Hour eye shadow in Copper Spice (used the darkest colour for brows)
Majolica Majorca Neo Automatic Liner (liquid liner in BK999)
Beauty Cosme Mascara from Daiso
Ellefar Multi Cheek Blush in Orange, also from Daiso

:)
